Shout Out To Whanau (family) On The Edge

Whanau (pronounced fanau) is a Maori word for family. It means all of us, the tribe, and the implication is we are one family no matter race or religion. If your heart beats to a human rhythm you are Whanau

"Dear whanau although you may feel isolated, your sacrifices and love unrecognized, although the world may seem a cryptic and barren place for the feeling you keep inside: you are not alone. With the often misunderstood emotion of honor may I humbly offer the idea that life has meaning beyond consuming pain, there is a purpose for soul and redemption for every situation. Cooling waters can flow into even the hottest of situations but the work to get there is real, requiring honest self-reflection; the awesome simple truth is as humans we possess the tools required for loving liberation and the blockages to this are merely our own delusional mind."

This book is awaiting a final edit, all the hard work has been done and I look forward to releasing it as soon as time permits.

Dealing with all the difficult issues, suicide, depression, lack of self worth, anxiety and feelings of utter pointlessness this book is not intended to be anything less than a handbook for all brothers and sisters who find themselves on the edge. It is unashamedly spiritual in essence but not linked or bound to any doctrine, set of beliefs, guru or cause. In this writing I seek to unleash the innate spiritual essence we all carry as humans, no matter our race or religion, no matter our social status or worldview. It is a book which draws nourishment from soul wisdom, from the thousands of humans who have turned me on to something deep and special which dwells in us all. I have never been limited by race or gender in the people from whom I draw my inspiration and I resist strongly any doctrine that would seek to make me do so.

I know the divisions of the past. I see the divisions of today. My views on the innate humanity which ties us all together remain unchanged. I have been to the edge. I have stared over that unimaginable precipice and wanted to die, thoughts of suicide going round and round as if at least in death there might be peace. Spending years tied to depression, to pointless toil to substance abuse, anger, loneliness, all the nasty emotions I managed to hold onto a spark of hope and find meaning in the little interactions; through it all I found a strength which drives me forward and a love which needs to share. This is our soul strength, our soul purpose and it is real. No one can take this from us or debase it if we are willing to make the effort and find it within.

You are welcome to read the first chapters here as a blog post and I will certainly be updating this page as I move forward in the process.
